Mr. Afi Yaw Stephen, the headmaster of Berekum Senior High School (SHS), has been suspended by the Ghana Education Service (GES) pending an investigation into allegations of charging unauthorized fees from Form One students.
The suspension comes after a student lodged a complaint, accusing the headmaster of imposing various unauthorized fees, such as “Entrance Fee, Borla Fee, Lunch Bag, Motivation Fee,” and others.
In response, the GES has issued a press release directing Mr. Afi Yaw Stephen to step aside and hand over his duties to the Berekum Municipal Director of Education.
