Teacher Arrested For Allegedly Giving ‘Apor’ To Student
A senior High School teacher has been arrested by the Eastern Regional Police Command for allegedly providing answers aka ‘Apor’ to some student in the ongoing West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE).
Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, has launched an investigation and the Ghana Education Services (GES) is assisting the police.
He further disclosed that the teacher [name witheld] has been granted bail by the police but the GES has also interdicted him.
Prof. Opoku-Amankwa further stated that initial investigations by the GES revealed the teacher was dictating answers on his phone to students.
“The school officials and WAEC officials immediately reported him to the police,” Opoku-Amankwa said.
Touching on the ongoing exams, Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa said the WASSCE has been interesting and exciting so far. “Generally the schools that we go, the students have comported themselves,” he said.
