On the Ofankor-Amasaman section, a tragic tragedy occurred when a multi-story building collapsed, trapping several persons inside. Firefighters from the Abelemkpe fire station arrived on the spot as soon as they heard the distress call to start the rescue efforts for the victims.
The precise number of people trapped in the building was not immediately known at the time of the initial reaction. Firefighters and worried neighbors, however, were both actively involved in efforts to find and release the trapped people.
In a video documenting the rescue operations, firemen could be seen working alongside locals to dig through the rubble and reach individuals in need of assistance.

As the rescue operation progressed, it was feared that one victim had tragically perished and that another had been safely recovered but had injuries. A bulldozer was sent to the scene to assist in the operation, strengthen the rescue attempts, and clear the debris.
Police enforcement was also brought in to handle the swarming throng and aid the rescue efforts due to the urgency of the situation and to maintain adequate crowd control.
This regrettable tragedy increases the number of building collapses that have happened this year, underscoring the demand for additional research and safety precautions in building techniques.
