Castrate Convicted Rapists – Musician Efya

Ghanaian musician Efya has called for convicted rapists to be castrated rather than detaining them for some years.

According to Efya, men value that part of the body very much so if castration occurs for a few times it will serve as a huge deterrent to prevent others from rape.

Efya was speaking on 3Fm and made a very strong appeal against rape which has become a huge issue n recent weeks due to several horror cases of rape against women, some who are children who can barely walk.

“Men who rape women are not treated the way they should be treated because of the amount of damage that they do cause to the woman, I feel the same kind of damage should be done to the man,” she said.

When asked what should be done to men who rape women, she simply said: “I think they should all be castrated…”

She expanded on it further: “…if we castrate a few of them, they will stop because they are very attached to that part of the body which they used in this act and if we take it away from them the same way that they take away our dignity and our pride and our power when they rape us when we are three years old…”

Efya added that women who suffer rape should speak out for the offenders to be dealt with.

“I want every girl out there that is being abused…I want you to know that something can be done about it just because the person is taking care of you doesn’t mean that your life is going to be over if you report it. I need everybody to speak. We need women to speak up. We need the mothers to speak up. We need the aunties to speak up, the sisters…,” she said.
