Catholic Priest Succumbs To Death After Donating Nose Mark To Younger Patient

A 72-year-old Catholic priest based in Italy has died from the novel coronavirus.

Father Giuseppe Berardelli had been diagnosed with COVID-19 and his parishioners bought him a respirator mask which he opted to donate to a much younger patient suffering from the virus.

According to a Catholic Outlook, the man of God was pronounced dead at a hospital in Lovere in Lambardy region of northern Italy which has become the world epicenter of the infection.

“Yes, Don Giuseppe had given up on the respirator, even if he needed it, and this is perhaps the best photograph of the soul of a priest who in the years spent in Val Seriana had conquered every. He was a priest who listened to everyone, he knew how to listen, whoever turned to him knew that he could count on his help,” eulogized Fiorano mayor Clara Poli.

At least, six priests including Berardelli reportedly died of the virus in the last one week alone in northern Italy while 14 more remained admitted in hospitals.
