The world woke up to the news of the shocking demise of Bettie Jennifer, wife of Ghanaian actor, Chris Attoh and till now, some people cannot come to terms with the fact that the lady who was always beaming with smiles in her photographs is gone!
Bettie Jennifer, according to reports, was shot in the head by a gunman on Friday around 5 pm while leaving her office in Maryland, USA and was pronounced dead when police arrived at the scene of the crime.
As the police launch investigations into the heinous crime, it is instructive to state that Chris Attoh, who married Bettie seven months ago, is a suspect and the reasons are not farfetched.
The Breakup Controversy!
For starters, the demise of Bettie Jenifer comes barely five days after news that her marriage with Mr. Attoh had crashed. Attoh sparked speculations as he deleted all photos of Bettie on his Instagram account – the same approach to how he hinted at a divorce from first wife Damilola Adegbite which turned out to be true.
The breakup, according to reports, stems from speculations Attoh is bisexual – a situation Bettie was not ready to cope with. As bizarre as she found it, the Walden University graduate reportedly threatened to spill the beans.
Alleged Reasons Chris Attoh Married Bettie
The marriage ceremony gained prominence in the media space and was the talk of the town, not only because it was the second Attoh was walking into, having had an unsuccessful one with Nigerian actress Damilola Adegbite. Rumours of his intentions played a part!
There were rumours and speculations Attoh had ulterior motives for marrying Bettie. Rumours had it that the black master of ceremonies with a thick build and black hair walked Bettie down the aisle after almost a year of divorce from Damilola because of immigration documents.
Not only that. Attoh wanted to enjoy the Express Employment Professionals Sales Director and former Regional Director for U.S-based LCA Vision’s hard-earned money.
Police description of the suspect
The police description of how the suspect looked would probably not have been a part of this piece had the aforementioned controversies not occurred.
Police described the suspect as “a black male with a thick build and black hair, wearing a dark shirt and pants.”
Bettie, according to reports left the office in the 6300 block of Ivy Lane and was walking to her car when a man armed with a handgun approached her.
When she tried to run away, the man followed her and fired at her multiple times, with at least one shot hitting her. After accomplishing his mission, he fled.
In as much as it is possible Attoh’s hands are clean, he remains a suspect and has to be invited for interrogation.
