COVID-19: Ashanti Region Surpasses 1,000 Cases As Ghana's Cases Hit 6,617

Ghana has just confirmed 6,617 cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) as of 23 May 2020.

The Ghana Health Service reports:

A total of 6,617 cases of COVID-19 with thirty-one (31) deaths have been recorded.

Regional Breakdown:

  • Greater Accra Region – 4,780
  • Ashanti Region – 1,010
  • Central Region – 297
  • Western Region – 208
  • Eastern Region – 106
  • Western North Region – 61
  • Volta Region – 45
  • Northern Region – 34
  • Oti Region – 26
  • Upper East Region – 26
  • Upper West Region – 21
  • North East Region – 2
  • Bono Region – 1
  • Savannah Region – 0
  • Ahafo Region – 0
  • Bono East Region – 0

Nevertheless, it is important to note that a total number of 1,978 people have recovered according to the Ghana Health Service.
