A self -styled policeman has been arrested by the Adentan police for his alleged involvement in enlistment fraud by the Adentan police in Accra, brightwebtv.com source can confirm that.

Rasmus Frimpong, who claimed to be a policeman with the Property Fraud Unit, of the Accra Regional Police Command, is in the custody of the police assisting in investigations.

A search on the suspect revealed police accoutrements such as a set of police uniform, specimen charge sheet book, a hand book of code of conduct and a motorolla set (police communication gadget).

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Effia Tenge disclosed this to the Ghanaian Times in Accra, yesterday, stating that victims were mostly graduates.

She said on April 17, a complainant in the case from Koforidua in the Eastern Region reported to the police that Frimpong collected GH¢1,800 from her to secure her job in the police service but failed to do so.
The PRO said, the police had information about his activities and arrested the suspect at Adentan on May 1, adding that during interrogation he gave a wrong service number and indicated that he was with the Property Unit of the Accra regional command.
DSP Tenge said further investigations revealed the police items on him.

She said on April 29, two other victims reported at the Adentan police station and identified the suspect as the one who collected money from them to secure jobs in the police service.
“Five more people have also reported similar cases against Frimpong to the police,” she added.

She said the case was under investigations, adding that he would soon be arraigned for fraud.
DSP Tenge appealed to the public and victims of such scams to report to the police.

She cautioned the public to be wary of such people in the society, stating that the police do not employ the services of middlemen to do recruitment for them.
DSP Tenge said such police recruitments were done through the national dailies and on the police webs.
