Family Digs Up Their Dead Relatives, Dress And Party With Them

In Indonesia, there exists a group known as the Torajan people who celebrate the ‘Mannene Festival.’

This unique event occurs every three years and involves the exhumation of their deceased relatives.

During the festival, the Torajans wash the bodies of their departed loved ones, clothe them in fresh attire, and engage in festivities with them.

The purpose of this ritual is to honor and show respect to their late relatives.

Reports indicate that this unusual festival has been practiced for over a century.
