Lionel Messi now has a chance to win his first World Cup championship as the South Americans advanced after defeating Croatia 3-0 in Tuesday’s first semi-final.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal were defeated by Morocco in the quarterfinals by a score of one, eliminating them from the tournament.
This means that Ronaldo might retire without ever having tasted World Cup victory.
