Father Arrested For Killing Baby Right After Birth

A dad aged 33-year-old has been arrested for allegedly killing his own baby girl just few hours after she was birth in the Volta Region.

OccuppyGh.com has gathered that the suspect, Amidu Ibrahim was arrested by Akatsi Police. The sad incident apparently happened in Belkpo located in Akatsi South of the Volta Region.

Amidu’s arrest was made after the wife and mother of the deceased baby reported the incidence to the Ghana Police.

The Akatsi South District Commander of Police Chief Superintendent Joseph Dzineku informed OccupyGh.com that the suspect’s wife, Sumanu Ladi came to the charge office and reported that she gave birth to a baby girl at Bekpo, Sunday, August 25, at about 2000 hours and that around 0100 hours the next day, August 26, her husband, Amidu Ibrahim came for the child and killed her.

Our news portal have gathered that although the couple live together, Sumanu Ladi traveled to Benin to live with her parents when she took seed until she gave birth.

The suspect, Ibrahim was said to have visited Benin two years later only to realized that the wife had given birth to a boy and was pregnant again for another person but decided to bring them back to Ghana.

The wife was said to have given birth to a baby girl just two months after returning to Ghana in Akatsi. Sumani noted that the suspect came for the baby and when asked where he was taking the baby to, he was mute and vanished compelling his wife to raise alarm for help.

The Akatsi South District Commander of Police Chief Superintendent Joseph Dzineku revealed that when the police got to the crime scene, the baby’s left arm was chopped off and the left side of the head slashed with a sharp cutlass.

The Chief of Police revealed further that Amidu Ibrahim agreed to committing the crime and is currently being kept in police custody awaiting further investigation.
