A Ghanaian supporter managed to find his way to the Ghan Black Star’s hotel in Abidjan to assault the coach Chris Hughton after his side lost terribly to Cape Verde in the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023.

The fan was later arrested for the assault on the attack on the Black Stars coach Chris Hughton.

The man who is yet to be identified made his way to the team’s hotel. The assault prompted the swift intervention of Ghanaian diplomats present at the scene, who managed to rescue Hughton before the assailant was handed over to the police.

The motive being the attack is yet to be established, however, it has been rumored that the man was yelling “Cape Verde is a small team to lose to”.

Ghana Black Stars suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat at the hands of the lowly-ranked Cape Verde.
