The Ghana Police Service has reacted over a viral video that surfaced online yesterday that sees a clique of Galamsey site workers abusing two police officers – they were reportedly abused over an extortion case.
According to the police, the matter off extortion by the security personnels have been referred to the Ghana Police Professional Standards Bureau for investigation.
Last night, this video surfaced online as it went viral instantly – it was one that captured two police officer begging for their life after allegedly trying to extort money from galamsey site workers.
The suspects in the video from the said harrassment have since been picked up by the Ghana police.
Also the case of extortion has reportedly been filled at the Police Professional Standards Bureau for investigation.
“FOUR PEOPLE ARRESTED FOR ATTACKING POLICE IN THE WESTERN REGION AND ALLEGED CASE OF EXTORTION REFERRED TO THE POLICE PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS BUREAU FOR INVESTIGATION”, the Ghana police service shared in a social media post.
