Ghanaians Heaps Praises On First And Second Lady For Refunding And Rejecting Salary

Ghana’s first and second ladies who are the spouses of President Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia have refunded and rejected monies paid to them as Presidential spouses salary which was approved in Parliament.

The backdated allowances since 2017 to date amounted to GHS 899,097.84.

The majority of the state’s citizens rebuked and disagreed with the approved salaries of the Presidential spouses especially with the hardship and crisis the country is facing now, they said the monies can be used for other developments.

Meanwhile, some Ghanaians have applauded Rebecca and Samira for their refunds after the public went against the approval.
