The Guinness World Records has official reacted to Afua Asantewaa, a Ghanaian broadcast journalist’s attempt to break the longest singing marathon record.

Afua embarked on a 5-day singing marathon dedicated to Ghanaian songs, promoting diverse music genres like gospel, highlife, and hiplife.

In total, she did 126 hours, 52 minute per her team’s calculation… however, the Guinness World Records has the final say after their checks.

Throughout Afua’s effort, netizens mostly Ghanaians have made effort to capture the attention of the GWR on social media.

One was able to get a reaction as he write on the page of the GWR:

“Hey GWR, Ghana is buzzing with the singathon challenge with Afua Asantewaa… Ghana is joining your book of records soon!”

The reply from the GWR handler read:

“Hi Abrantie, we look forward to receiving evidence, this event certainly seems to have captures the public’s imagination”
