A lady was hospitalized after being viciously hit in the face with a brick by a guy she refused to give her phone number to, in an incident that illustrates the growing issues of street harassment and violence against women.
The terrible incident, which reportedly took place in Houston, Texas, devastated the victim and highlighted the critical need to confront such acts of aggression against women.
For her safety, the victim, whose identity has not been released, described the terrifying incident in a now-trending video.
When she refused to give out her phone number, she claimed that a bunch of males were around her.
One of the males resorted to violence, hitting her in the face with a brick in a startling act of brutality.
Eyewitnesses claim that the attacker viciously drove away from the area following the incident, leaving the woman hurt behind.
According to reports, no onlookers stepped in to stop the attack or help the victim.
Speaking from her hospital bed, the victim expressed her concern that her attacker might never be found. She begged for justice to be done and described her experience as traumatizing.
Houston’s law enforcement agencies have opened an investigation into the event, and they are aggressively looking for information from witnesses and looking over local camera footage to find and apprehend the suspect.
The protection of women in public places and the necessity of bystander intervention when seeing such acts of violence have been brought up again in light of this tragic episode.
Increased awareness, education, and tighter laws against harassment and gender-based violence are being demanded by supporters of women’s rights.
