Robbery Suspect Urinates During Trial In Court (See Details)

In a shocking turn of events, a robbery suspect accused of robbing a couple at gunpoint could not control his bladder during his trial at the Ho Circuit Court.

Yao Wlako, 30, urinated so profusely that his urine filled the dock, ran into the courtroom, and forced people to leave the courtroom and adjoining corridor to avoid the smell.

Wlako, along with his accomplice Emmanuel Boni, 24, allegedly broke into the couple’s home at Ho Area 51 in the Volta Region and robbed them of their belongings, including a laptop, iPhone, Samsung tablet, Techno phone, and jewellery valued at over GH¢10,000. The robbers also burnt the couple’s bodies with a hot-pressing iron.

Both suspects were charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery, causing unlawful damage, unlawful entry, and causing harm, but they pleaded not guilty to all five counts.

The police prosecutor for the case, Chief Inspector Agnes Ahiable, stated that the robbers were arrested after one of them left his phone behind, which the couple gave to the police when they reported the incident.

This incident is a stark reminder of the alarming rate of violent crimes in the country. It also highlights the need for stricter laws and tighter security measures to deter such heinous crimes.
