New reports on HIV prevalence in Ghana reveal that a total of 354,927 individuals are currently living with the virus, with 115,235 being males and 239,692 females.
Shockingly, statistics indicate that out of every 10 women involved in hook-up activities, four of them are HIV positive, highlighting a concerning trend.
On a positive note, the report shows that 87% of individuals living with HIV in Ghana are aware of their status, reflecting an encouraging level of awareness and testing.
Additionally, 68% of those diagnosed with HIV receive sustained antiretroviral therapy (ART), contributing to improved management and care for those affected by the virus.
This data underscores the importance of ongoing efforts to promote awareness, testing, and access to treatment in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Ghana.
