A young man, identified only as Jacob, who lives in Accra is said to have died after refusing to pay ¢800 at a public hospital he was admitted last week in Tema.
According to a source close to the deceased, Jacob was admitted last week in a local government hospital in Tema, after he was diagnosed by the doctor on duty.
He was then asked to undergoing surgery which will cost him an amount of Gh¢800.00. Jacob was said to have sworn never to pay the bill for his surgery and was quoted to have said:
“I’ll rather die than to pay ¢800.000 in this hospital”.
The source revealed further to us at OccupyGh.com that Jacob left the hospital that night after he (the source) helped him pay off the remaining bills of the hospital.
According to the source, Jacob died yesterday in his house and has been taken to the same hospital for post-mortem.
