The operation of stopping illegal mining in Ghana by the special forces which include the Ghana Police and Ghana Armed Forces has been something they have been fighting for ages now.
Thousands of illegal miners have been arrested but it seems they can never be stopped from mining anytime soon as different miners from different locations always get hooked.
However, the Ghana Police Service has done well to arrest ten illegal miners at Akyim Anyinem. These young miners were put through some drills as punishment.
They were made to use mud to paint their faces and laugh by force. After that, they were made to shout “Sika Anibre” meaning greediness for money.
These illegal miners would face the law accordingly.
