Earlier today, a troubling incident unfolded in Kasoa Zone 6, where residents confronted an elderly woman accused of collecting waste materials, including used sanitary pads and tissues, from household bins.
The residents suspected she intended to sell these items to ritualists and decided to intervene.
This woman had been previously apprehended in Kasoa with similar items, but today’s encounter turned violent. The residents attacked and beat her before burning the collected waste materials.
While the residents’ actions might have stemmed from a desire to protect their community, this incident raises serious concerns about vigilante justice and the safety of individuals accused of such practices.
