VIDEO: KNUST SHS Student Dies After Teachers Reportedly Neglected Him Over COVID-19 Scares
A final year business student of the KNUST Senior High School identified as Sam Leonard reportedly dies after school authorities allegedly neglected him over Covid-19 fears.
According to Afia Pokua Vim Lady on Adekye Nsroma, the student was given less and no proper medical attention when he fell sick because of the fear that he had contracted the disease.
According to reports, the student was left unattended to by teachers and authorities but rather friends of his who tried their best and called his father.
After his father arrived after a 3-hour journey, he rushed his child to a health center but unfortunately passed on upon arrival.
News of the death of the Business student sent the students on a rampage amid pelting of stones and breaking the windscreen of a saloon car which, the headmistress drove to the school.
“We were demonstrating because yesterday one of our mates was sick and he was left to his fate to survive on his own because of the fear of coronavirus. Nobody attended to him.
“He was ill, he wasn’t showing any signs since morning but later in the afternoon around 3 o’clock he started vomiting because he had some stomach ache,” one student recounted.
Videos captured by some students of the KNUST SHS show the deceased groaning in pain supported by some of his colleagues on campus.
