Kuami Eugene, crowned King of Highlife music has jabbed ‘haters’ for saying he doesn’t deserves to be named ‘King of Highlife’ music.
The Lynxx signee on the night of the VGMAs was crowned ‘King of Highlife’ by legendary highlife musician Amakye Dede just after their performance together.
Since this announcement, several people have questioned Amakye Dede’s reason for crowning the “Angela” hitmaker as King in that genre whiles no one has ever made him Amakye Dede king.
The Lynx signee who has been hearing such comment has come out to defend the decision by Amakye Dede and as well his crown.
According to Kuami Eugene, it was a great opportunity performing with Amakye Dede and the crown he received from him is a blessing to his career.
“It was a good feeling and performing with Amakye Dede was a blessing. With the crown, it is also a blessing upon my life. I think it’s a negative vibe to say he was forced. Why can’t we appreciate goodness when it happens,”.
“I’ve won ‘Highlife Artiste of the Year’ back-to-back. Let me say that alone proves I am doing highlife well. I do live performances too and if I have been crowned Highlife act of the new era, I don’t think there is anything bad about it,” he explained.
