Lifestyle coach, Emmaline Datey spoke on Joy Prime’s Morning show Prime Morning, with Jay Foley and Emefa Adeti, on the importance of branding and its importance to the personal growth of an individual.
She explained that generally, the notion that a brand is only a company, service or product is outdated. In recent times, people are becoming brands too.
The life-coach also took shots at persons who create social media pages and then refer to themselves as brands just because of their large following.
‘…You want to portray that you are a professional lawyer, but when your social media is viewed, all that is seen are pictures of you, dressed in nice clothes and you post nothing about law or legal issues. And for some unintelligent reason, somebody calls you a slay queen, then you’re upset’.
This could be interpreted as jabs at celebrities like Sandra Ankobiah, who many on social media have criticized for acting more like a slay queen than as a lawyer, which she is.
