OccupyGh.com has stumbled on a story of at the oldest woman in Africa, 68-years-old who have delivered twins after conceiving through IVF.
The first time mother of two was delivered of the babies through a Caesarean section operation at the hospital after the conception at another one.
She’s said to be the oldest confirmed case of a first-time mother under the same circumstances in Nigeria and possibly Africa.
The mothers and babies are reportedly doing well as LUTH celebrates making history.
A doctor tweeted:
“GOOD NEWS:
A 68year old woman just delivered twins in Lagos University Teaching Hospital.
Pregnancy achieved artificially through IVF. Delivery through C/S. Both mother and babies are fine.
The oldest confirmed verifiable mother in Nigeria and in Africa. A big Congratulations!”
