My Govt’s Record In Road Construction Is The Best In Ghana’s History – Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has proudly declared that his government has achieved an unprecedented feat in road construction, surpassing any previous administration in Ghana’s history.

Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony for the dualisation of the Anwiankwanta-Ahenema Kokoben road in the Ashanti Region, the President announced that his government has completed a remarkable 12,830 kilometres of roads since 2017.

This impressive achievement far surpasses the 4,636 kilometres of roads completed during the Mills/Mahama era from 2009 to 2016.

The President highlighted various roadworks undertaken, including asphalt overlays, new constructions, and bridge building, which have significantly improved connectivity and economic activities across the nation.

While acknowledging the ongoing demand for more roads, President Akufo-Addo attributed the substantial road deficit to the inherited legacy of previous administrations.

He urged future governments to build upon the foundations laid by his administration, ensuring sustained investment in infrastructure to address the evolving needs of Ghana’s rapidly growing population.

The Ashanti Region has particularly benefited from the President’s road construction initiative, with 2,079 kilometres of roads completed, including major upgrades and enhancements such as the Suame Interchange and local road upgrades in Kumasi.
