Nigerian Woman Detained In Lagos For Exploiting A 10-Year-Old Girl To Deliver Narcotics

A female drug dealer named Taiye Abbas has been detained by men from the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly exploiting her 10-year-old niece as a drug courier in Lagos.

The defendant, who is the minor’s aunt, allegedly put narcotics in the young girl’s pants to get around security guards. Speaking to reporters, the young girl revealed that the 44-year-old is her mother’s sister and that she brought her to Lagos after her father’s passing from Kwara State.

She moved me from Ilorin to Lagos two months ago, and since then, she has been using me to transport drugs from the residence to her shop. She would put narcotics inside my underwear after I took a morning bath, and I would transport them to her shop. Mummy would discretely remove the medications and offer them for sale to some of the daily visitors.

Mummy informed me that due to the presence of police officers and other security personnel, she had to hide the pills in my underwear. Because they could believe that I was innocent, the police would let me pass while carrying drugs and would not search me.

Anytime she gave me medicines, I felt depressed. Because she would hit me, I refrained from complaining. it’s my dad

When questioned, the suspect said that one Azeez had introduced her to the industry around three months prior, and that she had only recently begun using her niece as a drug courier two months prior.

“I sent her across the street to get a loaf of bread, but she got lost. When I received a call asking me to visit the police station to identify a toddler found wandering the streets, I was still hunting for her. When I arrived at the station in a hurry, I saw that the child was my niece. Unaware of the threat around, I was relieved to have located my missing niece. When the police officers in the station began questioning me about the drugs they had discovered in her pants, I was shocked.

She promised not to commit the crime again, though, and begged the police for leniency.

The suspect was apprehended when her niece was found wandering the streets and brought to Pen Cinema Police Division by a neighbor, according to Benjamin Hundeyin, a spokesperson for the Lagos state police command. According to Hundeyin, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) instructed the girl to take a bath while they searched for her parents while they were at the station. He claimed that the cops found some suspected hard drugs, Colorado, hidden in the girl’s underwear when she attempted to take a bath.

“The discovery sparked additional inquiries, which showed that this had been going on for a while. Our inquiry had to be expanded to include her home, and we were able to bring her guardian—the suspect—to the police station. She didn’t dispute it. She said that she had used this strategy to get around police checks by shipping drugs from her house to the store, where she would sell them. We are exposing her and the current system drug barons are using to deliver drugs around the city because of this. The girl will be returned to her family in Ilorin, while the suspect will face appropriate legal action.Hundeyin remarked.
