Obrafour, real name Michael Elliot Kwabena Okyere Darko, a Ghanaian highlife musician and rapper has sued Canadian rapper Drake over copyright infringement.

The lawsuit is on basis of Drake’s usage of a sample from Obrafour’s song “Oye Ohene (Remix)” in his recent song “Calling My Name.”

According to Obrafour, Drake’s team reached out to him to seek permission to use the sample – he surprisingly denied them.

However, Drake went ahead to use the sample thereby causing damage on his (Obrafour) reputation.

According to court documents sighted on social media, the Ghanaian rapper Obrafour is suing Drake for at least “at least $10 million in damages” for copyright infringement.
