OVER 90% Staff of MoE Tests Positive For COVID-19 – Opoku Prempeh
The Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has made it known that about 90 percent of the staff at the ministry of education have tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
According to him, when he was told that he had COVID-19, a mass test was conducted on all the staff at the Ministry, revealing that most of them had contracted the disease.
Granting an interview with Mr. Kwame Sefa Kayi, the Education Minister said although the test indicated that most of the staff had COVID-19, they were mostly asymptomatic.
He explained that after a second test which revealed he was positive, the mass testing began, adding that out of every 50 persons, 45 had been infected.
However, he noted that they were all in isolation and receiving treatment.
Narrating his ordeal, the Education Minister said his admission at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) was acutely distressing.
He made it known that for the past 52 years of his life, he has never been admitted to the hospital until he contracted COVID-19, adding that the experience was woeful.
