Ghanaian Rapper EL Drops New Club Banger “Chop Life”

Ghanaian rap star EL has made a comeback with his latest club banger called “Chop Life,” which was released on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.

This is the first song released by the multiple award-winning artist this year.

The predominantly Hip-hop track has a West African groove, making it suitable for various dance styles in the region.

EL, whose real name is Elorm Adablah, explained that he wanted to start the year with a bang and that Africans love to dance, which inspired him to produce a feel-good and danceable track.

The song was originally recorded at the end of 2021 and into 2022 in Philadelphia, the same place where EL recorded his last BAR mixtape. The rapper noted that he was confident in the song’s release because everyone he played the track for had a positive reaction to it.

EL produced the music for “Chop Life” and revealed that he found a vocal sample that inspired him to create the song.

The near-three-minute song has a different sound from the rapper’s previous hits like “Shelele,” “Obuu Mo,” and “Kaalu” but has the same energy and vibe from the new EL, as he describes it.

In a breakdown video, EL noted that he had fun creating the song, and the lyrics were “very loose” and “dumb.” He admitted that he is not a good dancer but is excited to see the dance challenges that people will come up with on social media.

VO Nation released “Chop Life” in partnership with ONErpm and Skillions Global. EL’s fans have expressed their excitement about his latest release, with many sharing the song on social media platforms.

The rapper’s comeback has been a welcome development for his fans and the music industry in Ghana.
