It’s been a year since the tragic death of 26-year-old Maa Adwoa, who was shot and killed in cold blood by her police boyfriend near Dufie Towers at Adum in Kumasi.
The incident sent shockwaves through the community and led to the arrest of Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, who stood trial for her murder.
Appearing before the Asokore Mampong District Court last April, Inspector Twumasi, also known as Tycoon, admitted to the shooting, attributing it to a dispute over a GH¢5,000 debt owed by the deceased.
He appeared in court without legal representation, taking sole responsibility for Maa Adwoa’s death, stating, “what happened is between me and God.”
On the anniversary of Maa Adwoa’s passing, her family gathered at her burial site to honor her memory. During a solemn ceremony, they poured libation and made a heartfelt plea to their departed loved one.
Maa Adwoa’s uncle, speaking on behalf of the family, beseeched her spirit to assist them in securing winning lottery numbers, specifically invoking the combination 27-88 in hopes of striking it rich.
The somber occasion served as a poignant reminder of the tragedy that befell Maa Adwoa and the enduring pain felt by her family. As they continue to seek justice for her untimely death, they also turn to spiritual means in their quest for solace and support.
