In the Badagry region of Lagos State, a terrible tragedy was averted when a kind stranger saved a child whose mother had been tossed into a river.
In a video posted to social media, the man is shown saving the infant from the river after his mother abandoned him there and assumed he was dead.
The man and a few onlookers attempted to revive the infant after it had been pulled from the river and to flush the water out of his system.
The woman, who showed signs of mental instability, claimed to be fed up with life when questioned. She said that her child had completed his naming ceremony and had lived long enough to leave this planet.
The onlookers who saved the infant then brought him to a hospital for treatment.
