Serwaa Amihere appears to have not learned from past controversies, as her latest social media post has stirred up fresh debate.
Recently, the broadcast journalist took to her X page to comment on a man’s lament about spending GHC5,000 in a week due to rising costs. Amihere cheekily asked the man, whom she dubbed “rich,” to send her some money via mobile money transfer (momo).
Her comment drew a flurry of reactions from fans. Many wondered aloud if the GHC2,500 she used to receive weekly from her former lover, businessman Henry Fitz, was no longer sufficient for her needs.
This comes just months after Amihere publicly apologized for an intimate video of her that went viral. The explicit video, featuring Amihere and Henry Fitz, was leaked on April 2 and quickly spread across social media platforms.
Three individuals, including Fitz, who remains at large, were charged on April 8 for allegedly distributing the video online.
According to court documents, Amihere had paid a ransom of GHC20,000 to prevent the video’s release. Despite receiving the payment, the accused individuals went ahead and shared the video, severely damaging Amihere’s public image and jeopardizing her ambassadorial deals.
