Six more persons associated with the Western Togoland Restoration Front (WTRF) have been sentenced to 13 years in prison, along with a GH¢15,600 fine, equivalent to 1,300 penalty units.
This decision was reached by the Accra High Court, presided over by Justice Mary Maame Ekue Yanzuh.
Last month, four other accused individuals, John Gbedemah, Godwin Awudza, Excel Liberty Aheto Kuegbesika, and Divine Nyadzinyor, were acquitted and discharged by the court.

Western Togoland, an unrecognized state within Ghana, has been at the center of an ongoing separatist revolt.
In September 2020, separatists in Western Togoland declared independence from Ghana, leading to an insurgency led by the Western Togoland Restoration Front (WTRF).
The group’s objective is the independence of the former British Togoland. This issue has garnered international attention, as Western Togoland is recognized by the international community as part of Ghana, creating a complex and contentious situation in the region.
