After receiving a 17-year prison term for robbery, a 19-year-old car washer’s future is now in peril.
He was given a prison sentence for stabbing a woman he robbed, leaving her hospitalized and in critical condition, by an Accra Circuit Court presided over by Mrs. Afia Owusuaa Appiah.

On his first day in court, Christopher Amolee, the defendant, entered a plea of guilty simpliciter to the accusation of robbery contrary to Section 149 of the Act 29/60.
Following his own plea, he was found guilty.
According to reports, Amolee carried out the crime on August 9, 2023, at Sakumono, Greater Accra Region, and stole GH976 from his victim.
Amolee, who appeared sober in court, described what happened before being sentenced but said he had no idea what had driven him to do it.
Since he had nowhere to go, he also prayed for the court to have mercy on him and for his master to forgive him and take him back.
He testified before the court that he only has his owner, whom he had wronged before receiving his punishment, and neither a mother nor a father.
After being found guilty, the offender appeared in court unrepresented, but he had a lawyer who was pleading with the judge to exercise pity and give him the least amount of sentence.
He argued that it appeared to be a case of poor stealing based on the convict’s demeanor and his explanation to the court.
