During an engagement with the clergy in the Western North Region as part of his nationwide tour, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), pledged to provide free tertiary education to all individuals with disabilities if elected in the 2024 general elections.
Dr. Bawumia emphasized his government’s commitment to prioritizing scholarships for persons with disabilities, allocating funds from the scholarship secretariat and the GET Fund to cover tuition and accommodation expenses for eligible students.
He clarified that this initiative would commence in 2025 and would encompass both academic and residential fees.
Earlier discussions also saw the Vice President expressing his belief in his potential to effect positive change in Ghana, emphasizing the importance of divine guidance in his endeavors.
Additionally, he urged the clergy to pray for the nation’s peace and unity, highlighting his upbringing’s influence on his respect for all religions.
