The UK-Ghana Gold Mining Programme, a £3.9 million joint initiative between the governments of Ghana and the United Kingdom, has been unveiled to bolster Ghana’s anti-illegal mining efforts.
The three-year project will focus on combatting illegal gold mining activities in the Western, Ashanti, and Savannah Regions of Ghana.
The UK government’s commitment of 3.9 million pounds aims to support Ghana’s ongoing fight against illicit mining and its associated environmental and social consequences.
This collaborative effort seeks to enhance sustainable mining practices and protect the Ghana’s natural resources while fostering economic growth in the mining sector.
