The Vice President for the United States of America Kamala Harris touched down in Ghana on the 26th of March, 2023, and has since been touring the country to historical and significant places.
On the 28th of March, 2023 she visited the Cape Coast Castle to experience what it felt like to be a slave in that dark hostage.
She wrote; “Today, I visited Cape Coast Castle in Ghana. Hundreds of thousands of enslaved African people were forced here, tortured, and brutalized”
“The horrific journey that began here shaped the history of the world. This history must always be remembered, understood, and taught”
Kamala held a press at the Cape Coast Castle to talk about her experience at the Castle. While narrating, she couldn’t hold back her tears.
