It’s, of course, annoying when food expected to be “fast” turns out to be anything but.

However, in extreme cases, the hunger-anger combo can have consequences far more serious than a gut unstuffed with grease.

Tragically, “hangry” derangement was on display at the weekend in Orlando, Florida, where a man allegedly gunned down a Burger King worker simply because his girlfriend’s drive-thru order took too long to complete.

Kelvis Rodriguez-Tormes, 37, shot dead 22-year-old Desmond Joshua in the parking lot of the fast-food restaurant at around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.

Rodriguez-Tormes had stormed into the Burger King on E. Colonial Drive demanding a fight after a woman made a scene about a long wait time at the drive-thru.

The unidentified woman was refunded $40 and asked to leave after she started yelling while waiting in line that she was going to get “her man” to come to the restaurant, according to arrest records cited by WKMG.

She drove away only to return shortly afterward with Rodriguez-Tormes, who demanded that Joshua fight him.

Rodriguez-Tormes proceeded to put Joshua in a headlock and began choking him until a bystander intervened and separated the two.

Undeterred, Rodriguez-Tormes went to his truck and returned with a gun, telling Joshua, “You got two seconds before I shoot you,” deputies said

He then carried out his threat by pulling the trigger before fleeing the scene along with his girlfriend.

Joshua, who only started working at the Burger King a few days earlier, was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, investigators said.

Rodriguez-Tormes was charged with first-degree murder, destruction of evidence and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
