A Bulawayo woman went berserk and fatally struck, with an ax, her husband following a misunderstanding over which television channels to watch. Ordetta Mpofu (44) was arrested on Saturday for allegedly killing her husband, Mr. Thembani Mpofu, for failing to intervene in a dispute which she had had with their daughter over the remote control for the television set.

The incident happened on Friday night in Bulawayo’s Emganwini suburb, Zimbabwe.

Reports gathered reveals that, on the day in question, the accused was watching television with the now-deceased and their two children. What sparked the fracas was when their daughter abruptly changed the channel they were watching.

This did not settle well with the accused who started throwing a tantrum. A heated quarrel then ensued with Mrs. Mpofu ordering her daughter to return to the previous channel.

All this time, her husband, Mr. Mpofu, did not intervene and later retired to bed. Unbeknownst to him, his wife was so scarred by the incident that she would later kill him for not taking her side and reprimanding their daughter.
