Young Couple Commit Suicide Because Their Parents Opposed Their Marriage Plans Over Ancient Belief
A young couple has reportedly lost their lives after taking a chemical known as Sniper in Okija, Anambra state due to their parents’ objection to them getting married.
The lovers’ marriage intention was strongly opposed by their parents following an ancient belief in the community.
Before taking their lives, they penned down a suicide note which revealed that they have been dating for six years and made plans to tie the knot in the future but their parents disagreed with their union due to the age-long Osu and Ohu caste system.
