In response to a distressing video showing a Police Officer dragging a suspect on the floor during an arrest at Effiduase Dadease, near Kumawu in the Ashanti Region, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) has personally apologized to the victim’s mother.
Expressing concern over the incident, the IGP has initiated a thorough investigation into the matter.
As part of the investigation, the officer involved has been detained and interdicted to ensure a fair and transparent process.
If you will recall as published in this piece, a police officer was spotted in a video physically assaulting a suspected drug peddler at Effiduase-Dadease in the Ashanti Region.
An eyewitness report from a resident of the town revealed that the suspected drug (wee) peddler was arrested yesterday following a tip-off.
In the video available, the suspected drug peddler in Effiduase-Dadease faced a violent altercation with the police during his arrest.
