Award winning Artiste of the Decade, Sarkodie has officially confessed who he consider as the Artiste of the decade and its no other than Samini.
Adjudged the Artiste of the Decade at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music awards after he saw off ‘tight’ challenge from R2Bees, Joe Mettle, No Tribe & Nacee, Shatta Wale, Okyeame Kwame, Stonebwoy, Samini, Efya, and Becca, Sarkodie obviously has a soft spot for Samini.
Many people were of the view that Samini should have scooped that award because he truly deserved it, having been consistent for two decades in the music industry.
Echoing the voice of this cluster of these people, Sarkodie told George Quaye on Joy FM yesterday- May 25 that supposing he was a board member of the Vodafone Ghana Music Award, he would have named Samini as the Artiste of the Decade.
Sarkodie made it clear that even though Samini deserves the award, music duo R2Bees equally deserve the award since they have also been relevant in the music industry over the past decade.
The Artiste of the Decade was created to celebrate and honour any hard working artist who has successfully remained relevant within a period of 10-years. The first one was won by High-life legend, Kojo Antwi.
