woman bites kayayo death

A 13-year old head porter ‘Kayayo’, Aisha has been bitten to death by a trader identified as Mamuna at the Kumasi Central Market.

According to some of the ‘Kayaye’ who were at the scene, a fight ensued between the two and the deceased was bitten.

The incident which happened on Saturday has thrown both ‘Kakayes’ and traders at the Central market into a state of shock.

Some ‘Kakayes’ narrating the incident to Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo said on that day the deceased Aisha decided to sleep at a place where Mamuna sells her items -the suspect confronted the deceased which led to a misunderstanding.

According to them, the deceased was rushed to the hospital for treatment, where the doctor’s diagnosis indicated that he was infected with a poison.

The deceased was pronounced dead on Tuesday May 29, 2018 at Manhyia Government hospital due to her condition.

“When we went to the hospital, the doctor told us, our friend has been infected with poison. This is not the first time Mamuna is doing this. Last year, she bit a certain woman to death and today too our sister is dead because of the same Mamuna. We came here to beat her to death but she is no where to be found,” they fumed.

The angry Kakayes vandalized the place where Mamuna is doing business.

Meanwhile, traders at Central Market have threatened a naked demonstration against the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly on Monday if Mamuna is not evicted from the place.

A trader at Central Market Amuno Gyamfua said ‘on several occasions, Mamuna threatens us with cutlass when there is misunderstanding between you and her’.

“The lady (Mamuna) is not normal and we have complained this issue several times to KMA and nothing has been done about it. We can’t entertain her anymore, so we are giving KMA from today to Monday to remove her from this place else we will stage a massive demonstration against KMA authorities,” She warned.
